Suspicious man reported in Glendale

A suspicious man reportedly was seen talking to two young girls Sunday in Glendale, according to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office news release.

“It's just suspicious circumstances,” sheriff's office spokesperson Deputy Dwes Hutson said this morning. “Given everything going on down there, we just want people to be aware of it.”

According to the release, sheriff's detectives contacted an adult female resident of Sol Abraham Street Monday regarding a report of a suspicious man.

The woman told detectives that at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, she was playing outside with her two daughters, ages 4 and 6.

The woman went into the house for minute. While she was inside, a man reportedly drove into the driveway and began talking to the girls, the woman told police.

The older girl ran inside and told her mother about the man in the driveway. The mother came outside to reportedly see the black Toyota pickup peeling out of the driveway at a high rate of speed.

The man never got out of his pickup and it is not known what his intentions were, the release said. He is described as being in his 20s with facial hair, possibly a goatee. He was last seen wearing sunglasses.

Anyone with information on this or similar incidents is asked to call the sheriff's office at 440-4471.
