The Elkton School District will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Elkton High School gymnasium, 739 River Road.
Veterans of every age and era are encouraged to come and be honored and to bring family members and friends.
Songs will be performed by grade school students, the Sutherlin High School Choir and The Gospel Sounds.
Essays and poems will be recited by Elkton students and colors will be presented by the U.S. Coast Guard, Umpqua Station, along with a special diploma ceremony to special guest veterans.
Fellow veteran Dr. Charlie Sharp will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served following the assembly. Veterans and guests are invited to meet students.
