Linda Lou Hatcher

Age 61, died at her home on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, with her family and dogs with her. As she wished. Linda leaves behind her husband of nearly 41 years, Olan David; daughters, Jennifer Lynn and Mary Elizabeth; sisters, Gayla and Polly and brother, Russel. She was grandma to Christa, Travis and Terry, aunt to Tina, Michael, Abraham, Jason and great-aunt to Hayden. Linda was born in Longview, Washington, February 5, 1948, to Arthur and Eula Andrews. Linda graduated High School in Alsea, Oregon, class of '66 and went to beauty school in Eugene, Oregon. Through an acquaintance, she began writing letters to a soldier in Vietnam who she married December 24, 1968. They began their life Roseburg, Oregon, and traveled the United States and Europe through the military. In Germany she began work as an employee of the United States government which she continued for close to the last 20 years in Roseburg at the VA. Linda enjoyed the coast, traveling, reading and a good meal with friends and family. She had three loyal dogs, Nubbin, Chuy and Buddy, who never left her side. She was one of the kindest, most compassionate, giving peoples any of us who knew her, ever had the pleasure to know. Linda died of Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a disease that was fast, aggressive and rare. Neither the chemotherapy or radiation could kill the kidney her sister, Gayla gave her 24 years ago. Linda will be missed by many. A celebration of life will be held this spring when the flowers bloom, her favorite season. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Love you miss you see you soon...
