A Canyonville woman was lifeflighted from a crash that took place on the Tiller Trail Highway Thursday afternoon, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported this morning.
Georgianna Lynn Murphy, 40, was driving a 2003 Ford F250 west on the highway near Berry Farm Lane, at about 3:30 p.m., according to a news release. An eastbound witness told police Murphy was reportedly partly across the center line as the vehicles prepared to pass.
The witness told police he saw Murphy's vehicle jerk to the right, slide sideways and leave the road. The vehicle then hit the dirt bank and rolled, landing on its wheels.
The Jaws of Life were used to extract Murphy from her vehicle. She was transported by ambulance and then transferred by helicopter with unknown injuries to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. On Friday morning, a hospital spokesman said she was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
The Days Creek Volunteer Fire District, Medcom Ambulance and Canyonville South Umpqua Fire Department responded to the wreck.
