ROSEBURG

Bull riding, indoor kart racing on tap

Professional bull riding is back, and it's better than ever.

The Mad Dog Winter Bull Riding Series begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Pre-sale tickets are available at Douglas County Farmers Co-op, Big Town Hero and Canyonville Feed & Ranch Supply.

Cost is $12 (five-and-under free). Information: Jason Mattox, 580-8901. There will also be a UCAN Holiday Can Drive.

Outlaw indoor kart racing also kicks off this weekend at the fairgrounds.

The indoor season begins on Saturday with qualifying at 5 p.m. and racing at 6:30. On Sunday, action continues with qualifying at 11 a.m. and racing at 12:30 p.m. Open quad and bike racing will also be showcased. Cost is $5 for adults, and $3 for seniors and kids 7-12. Gymnastics meet on tap Saturday

Umpqua Valley Gymnastics is playing host to the Harvest Invitational on Saturday at its facility, located at 1034 Oak Street.

Session 1 (Level 4) gets under way at 9 a.m., followed by Session 2 (Levels 5-6) at 1 p.m. and Session 3 (Levels 5-6 and finals) at 5:30. Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for seniors and kids.
