Veterans Day closures in Douglas County

Schools will be closed Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.

The News-Review office will remain open, and the newspaper will be delivered as usual.

Other closures scheduled Tuesday include:

• All federal offices will be closed.

• U.S. Postal Service offices will be closed.

• All state offices will be closed.

• City and county offices, as well as courts, will be closed.

• All Douglas County library branches will be closed.

• Most banks will be closed. Some in-store bank branches may be open.

• Oregon Liquor Control Commission stores may choose to close or remain open under state guidelines. Call local stores for hours.

• Offices of Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services will be closed.

• Douglas County public schools, the Douglas Education Service District and most other schools, will be closed.

• There will be no classes at Umpqua Community College.

• The state lottery offices will be closed, but regular drawings will take place.

• Garbage will be picked up on regular schedules. Some services may pick up earlier than usual, however.

• Umpqua Transit and Dial-A-Ride will not be operating.

• Douglas County landfills will be closed.
