Bank gives $1,000 to student
ROSEBURG — Each year, Oregon Pacific Bank awards a $1,000 scholarship to a high school or community college student located in each the communities served by the Bank.This year, the 2009 Oregon Pacific Bank Roseburg scholarship recipient is Alex Daniels of Roseburg.
Currently, Alex is attending Umpqua Community College and plans to go on to Oregon State University where he will study to be a pharmacist.
The selection committee bases their award decision on exceptional scholastic achievement, community involvement, and other education-related accomplishments.
The scholarship program dates back to 1981 and is a key element in the bank's community involvement program.
