Howard James Burch

Age 80, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away at his home on Friday, November 13, 2009. He was one of seven siblings, and born in Butler, Oklahoma, on April 30, 1929, to Herbert and Bessie (Meler) Burch. Howard married Mary Jo Walker on May 29, 1948 in Bakersfield, California, after serving his country in the United States Navy. They moved to the Douglas County area in 1965. Howard loved to play the guitar and play with computers. He was preceded in death his wife, Mary Jo in March of 2005, and three son's, Hershel, John and Robert Burch. Howard is survived by his son, Paul H. Burch and his wife, Linda of Emmitt, Idaho; daughter, Mary L. Hanson and her husband, Chester of Roseburg, Oregon; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, and the Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Chapel of the Roses in Sutherlin, Oregon. Howard will be laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery following services. Pastor, Billy Sanders will by officiating.
