All this week Operation Christmas Child is collecting gift-filled shoe boxes in Douglas County for children worldwide.
Operation Christmas Child staff and volunteers will hand-deliver the shoe boxes to children whose lives have been affected by natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, poverty or famine in more than 130 countries. The boxes are typically filled with items like school supplies, toys, toiletries and a handwritten note of encouragement.
They can be dropped off at North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church, 1553 N.E. Vine St., Roseburg; the Hall residence, 1034 Riverside Drive, Myrtle Creek; and First Baptist Church, 309 Payton Ave., Drain.
The boxes will be accepted until Sunday at the Hall residence and First Baptist Church and until Monday at North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church.
