Armed robbery suspects from Roseburg arrested

Four Roseburg men are in custody after they allegedly forced a Myrtle Creek man at gunpoint into a van and then stole a vehicle and other items from a Myrtle Creek residence, police said this morning.

At about 12:10 a.m. Friday, Douglas County sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on the 200 block of D Lee Lane, Myrtle Creek, for a report of a stolen vehicle, according to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office news release.

Deputies talked to three occupants of the residence and learned that four male suspects reportedly had been at a residence in Roseburg with one of the male victims. The 26-year-old male victim allegedly was forced at gunpoint into a van and driven to the D Lee Lane address.

Once there, the victim and the four suspects reportedly waited for another 26-year-old male victim and a 28-year-old female victim, all of Myrtle Creek, to come home.

The suspects then allegedly demanded the keys to the woman's car and all of her money. She complied and gave up her car keys and about $140 in cash. The suspects then allegedly took three laptop computers, cell phones and X-box games. They then allegedly left, taking the woman's car.

The car was recovered abandoned about two hours later, the release said. The car stereo and speakers had been removed. Deputies continued investigating and identified all the suspects.

On Saturday, two suspects, Nicholas Anthony Scalera and Manuel Pete Arteaga, both 23, were taken into custody at a Roseburg residence. Later that day, Ricky Dean West, 42, and Blake Allen West, 20, were taken into custody at separate residences in Roseburg.

Deputies have recovered some of the property taken during the incident, the release said.

All the suspects were charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree theft, first-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Scalera and Arteaga are known to the female victim, the release said.
