77, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009. She was born August 28, 1932, in Potlatch, Washington. She married Robert E. Deaton who preceded her in death in 1997. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, music, and singing. She loved her grandchildren, and loved her home on Gazley Road doing gardening and yard work. She was also very fond of all of her friends at Adams House in Myrtle Creek. Survivors include two sons, Bob Deaton and wife, Colleen; David Deaton and wife, Rosemarie all of Canyonville, Oregon; two daughters, Carolyn Tappan and husband, Rocky, Myrtle Creek, Oregon; and Patsy Brown, Canyonville; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Two brothers also preceded her in death. Services will be held Friday, November 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Chapel in Myrtle Creek. Committal services will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Canyonville. Allen Peters will officiate.
