David Olson, a Roseburg pilot, has now given more than 100 young people a free demonstration airplane ride as part of the Experimental Aircraft Association's Young Eagles program.

Pilots in the program explain the safe operation of airplanes and principles of flight before taking short trips.

The Young Eagles program, founded in 1992, has now flown more than 1.5 million young people, most between the ages of 8 and 17.
