A Yoncalla woman was taken to the hospital after her car hit a deer early Saturday morning, police said this morning.
Julia Elizabeth Wilson, 49, was driving a 1991 Ford Tempo on the 800 block of Churchill Drive at 12:48 a.m., according to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office news release.
Wilson told police she swerved to miss several deer standing in the middle of the road. Her car went into a ditch and then hit a fence post.
Wilson was taken by ambulance to a Cottage Grove hospital, the release said. Her condition was not available this morning.
The car was left on the side of road and was taped off, according to the news release.
