Anna Mae Sanders

91 of Oakland, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009. She was born in Neshoba, Oklahoma on August 7, 1918, to Elijah S. and Mary Anna Wilma (Newkirk) Oliver. After the death of her parents she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Millard and Callie Newkirk. Anna had worked for Dr. Pratt as a medical assistant and as a care giver for many years. She enjoyed caring for others, quilting, sewing, canning, travel and antiquing. She was a Christian and affiliated with the Church of God. Anna is survived by daughter, Avis Goplen of Roseburg, Oregon; sons, Bud Sanders of Caliente, Nevada; Winford Sanders of Oakland, and Chesley Sanders of Las Vegas, Nevada; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Luther Jacob Sanders; sons, Arvil and Hubert Sanders; daughter, Pauline Ballard, son-in-law James Goplen; sisters, Oweatha Oliver Upton and Loretha Oliver McDougal. The family would like to thank Avis Goplen; Sherry Goodell and Gerald Goodell for the loving endless hours of care given to Anna. A funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses located at 311 E. Central Ave in Sutherlin, Oregon.
