Of Elkton, Oregon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. She was born in Hurley, Montana, to John and Kate (Proctor) Ervin. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her husband, four children, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Her cinnamon rolls will be missed. She had worked as a school secretary in Elkton for many years. She married her loving husband, Morris in Long Beach, California, on October 10, 1947. He passed away January 16, 2005, after 57 years of marriage. They started the Elkton Baptist Church in 1965, and served God together in Elkton for over 40 years. She was a Sunday School teacher, organist, piano player, youth leader, and Vacation

Bible School teacher. She led Bible studies, spoke at women's conferences and was a greeter extraordinaire. She loved and accepted everyone she met and was a mother and grandmother to many. Her home was open to anyone and everyone. Before moving to Elkton she and her husband took in two teenage girls for six months. Her children and (spouse) are John (Janie); Rod (Patty); Barbara (Jim) Bailey, and Ed (Robynne). Her grandchildren are David, Doug, Brian, Brent, Jeremiah, Tim and Melissa Wilgus; Mindy Stevens, Katie Bailey and Holly Tibbet. Great-grandchildren are Nate, Aidan, Julia Wilgus and Elijah, Ethan Stevens.

Private burial was held at Elkton Cemetery.

A memorial service for Freda will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Elkton Baptist Church, Elkton, Oregon.
