The annual Timber Truckers Light Parade will light up the sky Saturday in South Douglas County.
GRAND VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS DINNER THEATRE— Guests are invited to partake in a meal of prime rib and au jus potatoes or Cornish hen with stuffing with roasted vegetables, a grape salad, dessert and wassail while watching an 18th-century classic play adapted from Edmond Rostand's love story, “Cyrano de Bergerac,” at the Grand Victorian, 828 N. Old Pacific Highway, Myrtle Creek. See the kings, knights and damsels tonight through Sunday and Dec. 17 through 20. Performances are 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 5 p.m. Sundays. TIMBER TRUCKERS LIGHT PARADE/ MYRTLE CREEK WINTER FESTIVAL — The annual Myrtle Creek Winter Festival at Millsite Park will be the destination for the annual Timber Truckers Light Parade on Saturday. The parade, which starts in Riddle at about 5 p.m., is filled with festively lit log trucks, fire engines, cars, pickups and dump trucks. The vehicles will make their way into Myrtle Creek at about 7 p.m., where the community can get a close-up view of the displays, eat free chili, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee, and get warm by the fire pit. The Winter Festival opens at 5 p.m. 863-6843.
LANE HOUSE CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE— The annual Lane House Christmas open house will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the historic home at 544 S.E. Douglas Ave. in Roseburg. Members of the Douglas County Historical Society will provide entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and old-fashioned traditional decorations and costumes. A duo will perform holiday favorites on the piano and violin, Lorraine Wadsworth will lead a sing-a-long of traditional carols and there will be another piano performance and two melodeon players. 673-0466.
‘FIVE WOMEN WEARING THE SAME DRESS'— Catch UCC's newest play Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Centerstage Theatre of Umpqua Community College at 1140 Umpqua Road in Roseburg. The play depicts the comedic story of five bridesmaids avoiding the wedding they're dressed to attend. Organizers warn the play is rated “R” for adult content. 440-4691.
17th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS — Spend the weekend among the more than 80 light displays as part of the Festival of Lights. The show is one of the largest in the state and entertains all ages with 300,000 lights in a mile and a half. It is open from 5:30 to 10 p.m. today and Saturday and 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at River Forks Park in Roseburg. The show is sponsored by the Roseburg Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Umpqua Valley Arts Association. Cost is $8 per vehicle, $1 for 3-D glasses. Open through Jan. 1. 672-3469.
