David was born on November 6, 1946, in Portland, Oregon, and died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in Roseburg, Oregon.
He grew up in Port Orford, Oregon, where he attended school and graduated from Pacific High School.
David worked in the forest industry starting at Western States Mill in Port Orford. He drove logging and lumber trucks before going into heavy equipment. He had worked the last 23 years at Douglas County Forest Products in Roseburg, Oregon.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his numerous friends in Roseburg and had just recently returned from a fishing trip in Alaska.
David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Taunya and Scott Williams of North Bend, Oregon; son, David Peel of Salem, Oregon; brother, Raymond Pratt of Corvallis, Oregon; nephew, Ronnie Cotter of Beaverton, Oregon; niece, Teri Watkins of Bandon, Oregon; two grandsons, Scott Jr. and Shawn Williams of North Bend; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie Pratt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Lodge in Sutherlin, Oregon, on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 1 p.m.
