Police and Fire Logs: Dec. 27, 2009



These logs are the highlights of initial emergency calls and reports to the Douglas County Dispatch Center. They do not represent all the incidents or their final outcomes.

POLICE LOG

Thursday

Douglas County sheriff

12:43 a.m. — Theft of bicycles from a residence in the 300 block of North View Drive.

3:43 p.m. — Dog detained after one goat was killed and another injured in the 900 block of Elgarose Road.

7:05 p.m. — Report of three juveniles shooting BB guns at passing vehicles in the 3000 block of Newton Creek Road.

Roseburg Police

1 a.m. — Window broken out of a vehicle parked near the corner of Ellan Street and Garden Valley Boulevard. Police were looking for three men in their 20s seen walking up and down the street in that area before the incident.

Reedsport Police

7:39 a.m. — Tires damaged on a car parked in the 200 block of North 10th St.

1:30 p.m. — Break-in at a residence in the 1300 block of Ranch Road.

1:40 p.m. — Vandalism to a vehicle parked in the 1900 block of Cedar Avenue.

Friday

Douglas County sheriff

5:07 p.m. — Report of several people fighting outside a residence in the 100 block of Wecks Road, Tri City.

10:04 p.m. — Reports of several vehicles being shot by a paintball gun in the 200 block of Taylor Street, Tri City.

Myrtle Creek Police

11:45 p.m. — Windows shot out, possibly from BBs, on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Northeast Division Street.

Reedsport Police

3:15 p.m. — Parked vehicle struck in the 600 block of Ranch Road. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

5:03 p.m. — Theft from a home in the 1900 block of Elm Avenue.

Saturday

Douglas County sheriff

5:10 a.m. — Rock thrown through the plate glass window of a business in the 100 block of North Main Street, Riddle.

Myrtle Creek Police

9:35 a.m. — Broken window reported in the 300 block of Northwest Division Street.

Roseburg Police

1:43 a.m. — Two men fighting in the 2500 block of Diamond Lake Boulevard.

ACCIDENTS

Thursday

Douglas County sheriff

1 p.m. — Two-vehicle wreck on Highway 101 at Eighth Street in Winchester Bay. At least one citation was issued.

7:15 p.m. — One-vehicle wreck on Interstate 5, in the southbound lanes near Milepost 121. No injuries were reported.

8:37 p.m. — A mini van drove into a ditch on Garden Valley Road at Old Garden Valley Road. At least one person was taken for treatment at Mercy Medical center.

Oregon State Police

11:37 p.m. — One-vehicle wreck on I-5 at northbound Milepost 85. The vehicle spun out and went through a fence and onto Ranchero Road.

ARRESTS

The News-Review publishes the names of individuals who have been arrested on suspicion of at least one felony charge or three misdemeanors or a combination of felony and misdemeanors charges.

Thursday

Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center

Three Winston girls, ages 12, 13 and 14, were taken into custody and accused of first-degree arson, reckless burning and third-degree criminal mischief.

Friday

Roseburg Police

Cody Ray Dubois, 21, of Roseburg, accused of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, prohibited practices and a probation violation.

Heather Marie Newton, 34, of Days Creek, accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and prohibited practices.

FIRE RUNS

Thursday

Azalea fire

7:17 a.m. — Flue fire at a home in the 3300 block of Upper Cow Creek Road.
