Marjorie G. Williams

beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the age of 102. She was born November 25, 1907, in Brooklyn, New York, to Richard and Jennie Gleisberg. In 1940, she married Robert C. Williams in Freeport, Long Island, New York, and they came out west to Pendleton, Oregon. They lived in Portland, Oregon, for many years before moving to Sutherlin and then retired to Roseburg. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Newton Creek Garden Club, Zuleima Temple #13 Daughters of the Nile, and Order of the Amaranth Douglas Court #18 of Roseburg. She cherished the friendship of good neighbors Mike and Beth Vallance. Survivors include her daughters, Edna Wilmeth and husband, Bob of Roseburg, Oregon, and Mildred Ann Williams and husband, Bob of Salem, Oregon; grandsons, Michael Williams of Florence, Oregon and Mark Williams of Woodstock, Georgia. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1987 and sister, Edna Avio in 1991. Contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to UCAN or the charity of your choice.
