ASHLAND — Southbound Interstate 5 traffic was being stopped Tuesday evening at the south Ashland Exit 14 due to snow conditions in California.

“We are holding traffic at the request of Caltrans,” said Oregon Department of Transportation Assistant District Manager Shaun Stephens. “We don't have an estimate when we will release traffic into California.”

Road condition updates are available at www.Tripcheck.com or by calling 511. Road and weather information can be accessed toll-free within Oregon by dialing (800) 977-ODOT (6368).

California road conditions are online at the Caltrans Web site, http://www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi or by calling 511 within California or (800) 427-7623 outside the state.
