A land use moratorium ordinance in effect for Winchester Bay since 2003 has been lifted, according to officials from the Winchester Bay Sanitary District.
The district was able to complete construction necessary to improve wastewater management and is now able to issue new sewer service permits.
Land owners may now develop land for new homes and businesses that previously couldn't receive sewer permits due to the limits of the old system, district manager Ray Davenport said.
