ROSEBURG

RHS Booster Club banquet March 10

The Roseburg High School Booster Club spring banquet and fundraiser is scheduled for March 10 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30.

This year's program is a roast/reunion for Roseburg head football coach Thurman Bell, who's guided the Indians for 39 years. Bell ranks third on the all-time Oregon high school football win list with 296 victories. His overall record is 296-125-1, highlighted by state titles in 1981, 1990, 1995 and 1996.

Several former Indians who played under Bell are scheduled to attend.

The banquet is the booster club's largest fund raising event of the year. A silent auction and limited oral auction will be held. Proceeds raised at the event will go to student scholarships, and help RHS teachers and coaches purchase items for classrooms and sports.
