The Sutherlin City Council has awarded $32,280 in funds from the city's transient room tax to promote several community events for the upcoming year.
The funds collected from overnight stays within the city limit were awarded to the Blackberry Festival, Purple Foot Gang, Umpqua Valley Wineries, Sutherlin Stampede Rodeo and others.
The applicants were asked to show how their events will promote tourism in Sutherlin and increase revenues for local businesses.
