WWII vet Glenn Butler receives Bronze Star

Sixty-four years after being discharged from the military, Dixonville resident Glen Butler stood tall as U.S. Rep Peter DeFazio presented him with a Bronze Star for his service in World War II. "It was very moving," said Butler Friday. "He pinned us, shook our hands and thanked us for serving."Butler was among six Oregon veterans honored Thursday at the Wayne Morse Federal Courthouse in Eugene.Butler's son, Terry, was one of 12 friends and family members at the ceremony showing their support. "I was extremely proud of my father and that he was willing to accept the award," Terry Butler said. …
