of the Lookingglass area of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010. She was born in Portland, Oregon, on May 31, 1932, to parents, George and Gladys Sanders. Joy graduated from Roseburg High School in 1950. Soon after she married her soul mate, Gaylord (Augie) Augustine on August 17, 1950. Shortly thereafter Augie joined the Air Force, which began a 23 year tour of service. On March 3, 1962, her son, Michael joined the family and on July 17, 1963, her daughter, Susan arrived. They made our family complete. She left this message. "I have been so blessed in my life to have precious parents, a loving husband and children. I have seen the White Cliffs of Dover, walked in the Tulip fields of Holland. I walked thru a little village in Holland and observed the pristine cottages their sparkling clean windows. Been to Hague, seen Paris and the Eiffel Tower, rode thru the hills of France and Spain. Walked the streets of Barcelona, saw a bullfight there, and camped on the Mediterranean Sea. Camped in Lucerne Switzerland, rode cable cars up mountains, viewed the Bavarian Alps from Hitler's Eagles Nest. Visited a tragic place, Dachau, in Munich. Camped near Venice Italy, and walked the beautiful city, swan in the Adriatic Sea. Road a train in to West Berlin, saw the wall and Checkpoint Charlie. Don't weep for me; God has truly blessed me in this life. I worked for wonderful people both military and civilian. I worked as a stenographer and secretary for the Air Force and the VA Medical Center." She was preceded in death by her beloved husband on May 25, 1991, her father on June 25, 1987, and her mother on August 8, 1990.
