OSU Extension: Nuts deliver nutrition, flavor in small package

Nuts! What a great food, full of flavor and nutrients.Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts - the list goes on when talking about all the different varieties. They are all wonderful sources of protein, located in the meat and bean group on the U.S. Department of Agriculture food guide pyramid for that very reason. A small portion of nuts packs a lot of nutrients, so remember to use nuts in everyday cooking and snacks. As far as nutrition, nuts are fantastic.
