Velma, was born at home in Culson, Kansas on September 18, 1912 to Claude and Goldie Stotts, and died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the age of 99.
She was married to Ivan M. Bailey on September 18, 1936. They were married for 53 years before his death in March 1990. Velma and Ivan had two sons, Don and Lee, while they lived in Turlock, California. In 1961 the family moved to Dixonville, Oregon.
She actively taught Sunday School and Bible study classes for many years, even after moving to Roseburg. She loved quilting, reading, knitting and crocheting, and most of all her Lord Jesus.
Her sons and their families survive her, Don and Gayle and daughter Ann of Dixonville, and Lee and Jeanette of Redmond, Oregon and their daughters, Lenore Carlson, Rebecca Bailey, Kathryn Bailey, and Teresa Bailey; and great-grandchildren Braden and Meris.
The family thanks Hospice of Redmond, Amedisys Hospice of Roseburg and Kimberly's Loving Care for their kindness and concern.
