Age 43, died on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Yucca, Arizona.
Meg was born February 2, 1969 on the family farm in Umpqua, Oregon during a record snow storm. Meg attended Umpqua Elementary, then graduated high school from Sutherlin High in Sutherlin, Oregon. She attended Umpqua Community College and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant license.
She married Patrick Dolan. They had one child, Kynda Dolan.
Meg was a vibrant individual with a smile that was contagious.
Meg cared for others and had been active in Douglas County HIV support groups and was active in HIV education in schools prior to moving to Arizona.
Her interests included camping, family and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, especially her grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick, and grandson, Ky.
She is survived by her daughter, Kynda Dolan, Yucca, AZ; her mother, Bonnie Komp Ellison, Yucca, AZ; brothers and sisters, David Whited, Vashon, WA; Pat Whited, Oakland, OR; Cari Barker, Oakland, OR; Rick Whited, Springfield, OR; Jeff Whited, Unalaska, AK; Mike Whited, Newberg, OR; Tim Whited, Sutherlin, OR; Dede Linton, Roseburg, OR; Scott Whittaker, Olympia, WA; Leonard Whittaker, Kingman, AZ. Also, too numerous to name, but no less important, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends who she considered her brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at the Calapooia Community Club House on Saturday, February 18 at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Douglas County AIDS Coalition.
