CANYONVILLE - Clip, splash, click.That was heard over and over and over again at the Canyonville acclimation ponds this past week. When the week ended, about 150,000 fall Chinook salmon fingerlings had clipped adipose fins. Each also had been counted and returned to the pond.They were now fin-clipped hatchery fish.Several groups of students completed the work to enhance the fall Chinook fishery in the Umpqua River system. They stood on either side of two long plywood tables, each student using two plastic containers.
