A meeting to discuss business registration proposals for Sutherlin businesses will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sutherlin Community Center, 150 Willamette St., Sutherlin.

Gary Dagel, chairman of the business registration committee, reported at last week's Sutherlin City Council meeting that committee members have met over several weeks to study the pros and cons of business registration in Sutherlin. The committee discussed various topics, including the purpose of business registration, the type of information to be gathered, who will have access to the information and what fee will be collected.

The City Council in May set out to consider a registration process and looked to local business owners for input. Most city's have such policies in place.

Dagel said that the committee is now ready to present its business registration proposal.

"We invite all business owners and representatives of Sutherlin businesses to attend the consultation meeting," Dagel said.
