The music festival, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Elkton Community Education Center, 15850 Highway 38, will support S.M.I.L.E.’s fund for a full-time music teacher for kindergarten through 12th grades at Elkton Charter School. 					WINCHESTER The Oregon Musical Theatre Festival is hosting an ice cream party at Swanson Amphitheater Monday to apologize for a missed performance of the play "Choir Girls." Festival promotional materials announced a July 30 performance, but organizers never intended to stage "Choir Girls" that day, according to Jason Heald, the festival's music director. Organizers are holding the ice cream party to apologize. The event will take place at the amphitheater before Monday's scheduled performance of "Choir Girls." 					OAKLAND Umpqua's Got Talent will hold a series of auditions starting Thursday for the contest and show taking place Sept. 9 at Umpqua Community College. Tryouts will start at 6:30 at Oakland City Park. The competition highlights amateur musicians, dancers and singers around the county. Bands can also compete, but must be limited to four members with a maximum of three instruments. Participants must bring their own instruments.
