A Townhouse Divided — This weekend Umpqua Community College’s theater arts department premieres the play “Brownstone” by Catherine Butterfield. Showtimes are 7 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Bash for Cash — Fourteen local kid songwriters will perform three songs each as part of the long-running “Yanka Bash” benefit for Brazilian street kids. The musicians will play guitar, ukulele, piano and other instruments. Tickets: $5 each or $15 for a family and are available at the door. 541-440-4142.

Take a Hike, You! — The Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club tackles the Rogue River on Saturday. A group will leave from the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot behind the library in Roseburg at 8 a.m. Bring lunch and water and be prepared to share gasoline expenses. 541-839-4334 or

Butterfly Away — The Elkton Community Education Center opens for the season this Saturday with a rummage sale and other events. The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 15850 Highway 38. Items from housewares to clothes to art and jewelry will be sold in the center’s library. Free to attend. 541-584-2692.

Talk about Art! — The Umpqua Valley Arts Association hosts an Artist Talk at 11 a.m. Saturday at 1624 W. Harvard Ave., Roseburg. The discussion will be given by the UVAA Gallery Committee, whose show, “Latitude,” is on display until June 29. Free. 541-672-2532.

Fiddle Me This — The Oregon Old Time Fiddlers host another Old-Time Fiddle Jam at noon Saturday at the Sutherlin Grange Hall, 851 Comstock Road.
