Umpqua Valley Arts Center features art quilts that aren’t bedding

Artists usually aspire to create work that will engage or attract the eye. One of the newest exhibits at the Umpqua Valley Arts Center goes a step further by showcasing pieces that viewers may be tempted to reach out and touch. “Oregon State of Diversity II” is a collection of fiber art from around the state. Organized by the state chapter of the Studio Art Quilt Associates, the show is slated for exhibit in the Hallie Brown Ford Gallery through Jan. 4.
