A local band will be hosting a public contra dance with caller Karen Olsen from 7 to 10 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Lookingglass Grange, 7426 Lookingglass Road, Roseburg. Irish Creme, a Douglas County-based Celtic and folk band, will provide the music. No experience or partner is needed for the dance. Olsen is a professional dance caller and will teach the simple steps for the event. The dance will be preceded by a beginners’ dance step workshop from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door.
