Help our local homeless vets

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary are collecting items to fill laundry baskets for the Hud/Vash program at the Roseburg VA Hospital. The program assists homeless vets off the streets and into housing, starting them out with some household necessities. Large laundry baskets are needed and items for the following areas. Please note that some items listed must be “new,” in order to meet recent VA hospital directives.

Bathroom: soap dish and toothbrush holder, shower curtain and hooks, toilet brush and holder; new bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and bath mats.

Bedroom: alarm clocks, plastic clothes hangers (six per basket); new bed pillow, pillowcase, afghan and lap blanket.
