This may be the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life — and much to my surprise, I made it.

Cheesecake is my favorite dessert. Amaretto is one of my favorite flavors. The two together created nothing less than a slice of creamy heaven.

Amaretto is a sweet, almond-flavored, Italian liqueur. The word amaretto actually means “a little bitter” in Italian — meaning this addition of flavor doesn’t make the cheesecake too rich, but adds the perfect balance of sweetness.

If you are a fan of Tiramisu, the Italian-cake, it is often flavored with amaretto. But I will claim that this cheesecake surpasses Tiramisu.

Don’t be intimidated to make a cheesecake. While the ingredients and directions look lengthy, it is fairly simple and fast to make. Additionally, with a few secret tricks I’ve learned in the baking and cooling process, this was not only my favorite cheesecake by taste, but also the first one I made without any cracks.

This cheesecake would be a compliment to a spring time brunch and is wonderfully paired with a Pink Moscato wine or a warm cappuccino. I’ll also be having it for breakfast.
