Election Night 2014: Hartman leads Acree in race for Douglas County assessor

Challenger Roger Hartman leads Douglas County Assessor Susan Acree in election results released shortly after 8 p.m.

Hartman had 8,958 votes, or 51.15 percent, to Acree’s 7,383 votes, or 42.16.

A third candidate, Harry McDermott, who dropped out too late to have his name taken off the ballot, had received 1,146 votes, or 6.54 percent. McDermott endorsed Acree.

Acree is seeking a second four-year term. The office is nonpartisan, but the Douglas County Republican Party endorsed Hartman, while county Democrats backed Acree.

The Douglas County Clerk’s Office anticipates updating results at 10 p.m.
