Douglas County Moms: Irish hospitality can't be sweeter than this

We just got back recently from a trip to Northern Ireland visiting our family. One of the things I love about being back there is the hospitality.

If you have ever been to Northern Ireland, you know that if you pay anyone a visit at home, one of the first questions you are asked is, “Would you like a wee cup of tea?”

Tea is rarely served by itself. Usually some kind of treat is served with it. We love our desserts over there, and one of my favorites growing up was banoffee pie.

My husband was introduced to this treat on one of his first visits, and now he, too, is an avid fan. A trip back there is never complete without a yummy piece of banoffee pie. Many of the bakeries make them in individual servings.

If you have a sweet tooth, you will love this. May I suggest you make this when you are expecting company over? Otherwise, you may just eat the whole thing yourself.
