echoes of 1969 — An inaugural event, Elkstock, will be held this weekend at the Elkton Community Education Center, 15850 Highway 38 in Elkton. The two-day concert is a fundraiser for the Elkton Charter School’s music program. Starts tonight, with music all day Saturday. Performing will be The Hideaways, CallowRuse, REFA, Kenny Holmes and the Blues Daddys, Code Blue, The Station, Axis Salvation and Z Riders. $10 for two-day admission. Overnight camping. Pioneering spirit — This weekend is Pioneer Days in Canyonville at Pioneer Park. Events start at 11 a.m. today 10 a.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. They include a cake walk, bingo, Quiksilver magic show, Good Medicine Indian Drumming, Countryside pet show, Pioneer royal court, talent show finals and the 43rd annual frog jumping contest. 541-839-4232.

ROTARY DUCK RACE — 9:30 a.m., River Forks Park, old Garden Valley Road, Roseburg. About 9,000 rubber ducks will go into the water at 10:30 a.m. In a race that will earn prizes for the top 10 ticket holders, with the grand prize being a 2014 Toyota Corolla. Proceeds from the 17th annual fundraiser benefit numerous Douglas County agencies and groups that assist children in danger of abuse or neglect. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online at roseburgduckrace.com.

Central Park Western — The Balla-Dears play Sutherlin’s free outdoor Music Off Central series from 6 to 8 tonight in Central Park. Husband-and-wife duo Wes and Wanda Hamrick play hits from the past.
