rosin your bow — Local musicians from the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association perform from 6 to 8 tonight at Sutherlin’s Central Park in the Music Off Central series. The show is free. Dogs are not allowed, and also banned is any alcohol over 12 percent by volume. 541-459-4522.

Information Flyway — The Umpqua Valley Audubon Society’s Swift Watches begin at 6:30 tonight in the Fir Grove section of Stewart Park behind the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, 1624 W. Harvard Ave., Roseburg. Watch thousands of migratory Vaux’s Swifts bed down for the night inside the old Clay Place Chimney. Audubon Society members will provide information. New ‘Medea’ — Several screenings of the Royal National Theatre’s production of the Greek tragedy “Medea” are planned for this weekend at the Centerstage Theatre at Umpqua Community College, 1140 Umpqua College Road, Winchester. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and UCC staff and $8 for UCC students and children younger than 18. 541-440-4691.

Bike the Vines — This Saturday the Umpqua Velo Club hosts its annual Vineyard Tour, starting at 8 a.m. at River Forks Park, 380 River Forks Road, Roseburg. Choose from five routes from 15 to 100 miles. The post-ride party is from noon to 4 p.m. with live music, food and wine. Meals included in registration cost extra. Guest meals cost $10. Iron and Wine — A women-only daylong team competition — the Ironwoman — benefiting the Zonta Foundation will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday starting at Melrose Vineyards, 885 Melqua Road, Roseburg. Teams of two will compete in shooting, golf, bowling, horseshoes and vineyard games. Transportation provided. 18 and older. $150 per team. 541-430-2192.

Rodding Along — A driving excursion is planned for Saturday on the back roads of Sutherlin and Oakland. The Hot Rod Fun Run stars at 9 a.m. at the parking lot of the old Ray’s Food Place, 106 Clover Leaf Loop, Sutherlin. The event features dash plaques, T-shirts, trivia, scavenger hunt, door prizes. First place gets $100. Entry: $10 for drive and one passenger (lunch included). Sponsored by the Sutherlin Chamber of Commerce.

Back in Black — Musician Scott Allen will perform the music of Johnny Cash from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Central Park in Sutherlin. He’ll be joined by guests “The Ventures” (Dan Estremado) and “Patsy Cline” (Kay Anderson). Sponsored by the Sutherlin Lions Club. Free. 541-784-8808.

Satellite Images — The Umpqua Astronomers will honor International Observe the Moon Night from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Fir Grove section of Stewart Park, Roseburg. Stargazers will gather in the parking lot next to the Roseburg Veterans National Cemetery. Participants can meet local astronomers and look through telescopes not only at the moon, but also Saturn and other universal attractions.
