Wish Upon A Star program returns for fifth year in county

The News-ReviewSanta comes early for some in southern Oregon. Through the Wish Upon A Star program, wishes for everything from stove pellets to clothing to money for medication are granted between Monday, Dec. 9, and Dec. 20. The fifth annual holiday program, created by Umpqua Bank, is designed to grant special wishes to individuals in the community in need.During the monthlong program, residents of Douglas, Josephine and Jackson counties are encouraged to submit letters on behalf of friends and family who are in need or are deserving of a special favor.
