Local retailers report strong sales

When the "gobble, gobble" of Thanksgiving Day turned into the "cha-ching" of holiday shopping day -- sometime in the wee hours of Nov. 29 -- Trish Kuntz of Roseburg heard the call.Out the door of her home at 6 a.m., she dashed to Fred Meyer, Office Max, Bi-Mart, Kmart and Rite Aid, thinned her wallet in the checkout aisles, and still managed to report to work on time at 8 a.m.Wal-Mart was so packed with shoppers she bailed out.
