IDLEYLD PARK: Tioga bridge work delayed

Disruptions to highway and river traffic near the Susan Creek Campground will be delayed after a crane needed to lift a 297-foot-long footbridge into place did not arrive by this morning.  The North Umpqua River was set to close to rafters for about three weeks beginning today. That section of the river will remain open until the crane arrives, probably in the next few days, said Cheyne Rossbach, spokesman for the Roseburg district office of the Bureau of Land Management. One crane being eyed for the project had hydraulic problems, while a second one had an engine breakdown, Rossbach said.
