SUTHERLIN — Work will begin soon on a $1.3 million path near Sutherlin Creek that will expand an old gravel railroad grade into an asphalt path beside bridges and a public restroom. The Red Rock Trail runs for more than a mile east to west near downtown. The trail follows the path once cut by train tracks that transported mercury ore deposits from the Bonzanza Mine in the 19th and 20th centuries.
