YONCALLA — Restoring the Applegate House has been a family and community affair this summer. About 25 volunteers, including 15-year-old Julian Applegate Brown, the great-great-great-great-grandson of the house’s builder, have sanded, painted and repaired sections of the home in time for Apple Day, Sept. 15. “The house was just in need of some tender, loving care,” said Shannon Applegate, whose great-great-grandfather, Charles Applegate, built the house between 1852 and 1856.
