The ground floor of the historic Grand Hotel, empty for two years, will soon be bustling again. A joint venture between Phoenix Charter School and NeighborWorks Umpqua will open Wednesday in the Roseburg hotel, giving students real-world sales experience and helping farmers, cooks and artisans sell their goods. The endeavor also will give new purpose to a building that’s been a downtown landmark for more than a century.
