A familiar Labor Day combination of high gas prices, heavy traffic and pleasant weather will hold true for this year’s three-day weekend as residents flock outdoors for the waning days of summer. Some 33 million Americans will drive at least 50 miles to reach their holiday destination, including 4 million in a five-state West region that includes Oregon, according to an estimate by AAA, formerly known as the American Automobile Association.
