No rain for 44 days not unusual for Roseburg summers

There’s no end in sight for the dry spell that has left Roseburg without precipitation since a record-setting rain July 20. The city received .26 of an inch that day, breaking the previous record of .19 of an inch set in 1995. Since then, 44 days have passed without a drop. Such lengthy dry spells are not unusual for late summer or early fall, National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Petrucelli in Medford said today.
