Letter: Numbers can be misleading

A recent campaign flyer from U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio elaborated on, among other things, how any individual on a new private insurance plan can now receive preventive care at no cost. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, thousands of young people up to age 26 in southwest Oregon are on their parent’s insurance. And regardless of any underlying real costs, insurance companies are now prohibited from charging women higher premiums than men. It sounds great, no more discrimination.
