September is national Infant Mortality Awareness Month. The theme of this year’s observance — Every Baby Deserves a Chance — is intended to inspire people to take action in support of the Healthy People 2020 goals to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes. In recognition of this important observance, Douglas County Public Health, in cooperation with the National Healthy Start Association, is encouraging everyone to learn more about how they can help ensure that babies reach their first birthdays.
